Growing up 15 minutes from campus, I was scared I would have a hard time branching out at Tech, so I went into recruitment looking for a group of people who would challenge and support me to leave my comfort zone. When I walked through the teal doors of Alpha Chi for the first time, I knew I had found not just a wonderful community but a home. Now, I’ve made lifelong friends who teach me new things every day. They help me see my city through a new lens and encourage me to seek the heights! I couldn’t ask for a more genuine sisterhood, and I can’t wait to watch it grow!

In Alpha Chi I have met the most wonderful people. Everyone is so supportive, genuine, and will truly be there for me if I ever need them. Every day during rush I met a group of diverse women who I felt truly appreciated my interests, thoughts, and saw the best in me. The lifelong friends I made here not only care for my presence, but acknowledge my absence. I feel so wanted and at home whenever I enter 741. I joined a sorority because I wanted to dedicate my time to a sorority’s philanthropy efficiently and AXO does a wonderful job of not only educating Georgia Tech’s community on Domestic Violence Awareness (DVA), but also involving students in supporting our local shelter, Partnership Against Domestic Violence. This type of healthy unconditional love is nothing I have ever experienced before. I feel incredibly grateful for finding that here at Alpha Chi.”

“Coming to Georgia Tech from out of state, I was so nervous about balancing academics and a social life at a school as rigorous as Tech. I’ve always been focused on school and I never thought I’d join a sorority before college; it just didn’t feel like something that would be the right fit for me. But joining Alpha Chi completely changed that! From the moment I walked in the door during formal recruitment, I have met some of the most incredible, supportive, and fun women who have shown me that you really can have both, work hard in school and build the strongest friendships. Now, I even find myself on the executive board to give back to the chapter that has shaped my college experience for the better. I’ve found my best friends, the kind of people who will be in my life forever, whether it’s late-night study sessions, spontaneous adventures, or grabbing coffee around Atlanta. I’m so thankful for the lifelong friendships and built-in support I’ve found in Alpha Chi!”

“To see beauty in the common things of life, to shed the light of love and friendship round me; To keep my life in tune with the world that I shall make no discords in the harmony of life; To strike on the lyre of the universe only the notes of happiness, of joy, of peace; To appreciate every little service rendered; To see and appreciate all that is noble in another, be her badge what it may; And to let my lyre send forth the chords of love, unselfishness, sincerity. This is to be my symphony. ”
